The Floating Villages Of Siem  Reap

We set off on our journey to the floating village in a tuk tuk after enjoying breakfast at Temple cafe. The journey was long and resulted in us being covered in orange dust as we sped through the dusty tracks!

Week 7 - Markets, Lakes And  Villages

This week started out very well. The volunteers are doing well and are enjoying their teaching placement. They realize that the facilities in which they teach have been slowly gathered together by the support and donations given to SHAC.

Teaching In Siem  Reap

On the 2nd of February, we began teaching at SHAC School. It has been a very rewarding and humbling experience. The school we are currently teaching in doesn’t have a lot - for example things we take for granted like tables/chairs/pens etc. However, the children are always ready and willing to learn every day, and grateful for everything they get.

Week 5 - Arriving In  Cambodia

This week focuses on our first week in Siem Reap. This is an important town within Cambodia. Siem Reap means "Siem defeated (Thailand defeated)". It is known for being quite a laid-back town with a lot of modern services. Most tourists come here for exploring the Angkor Archaeological Park. Soon my group will visit this park.
