The Perfect End To 2016! - Black Rhino & Elephant Conservation Project 


2016 has been a year of highs and lows on our Zimbabwe Elephant & Rhino project. With the deaths of our cherished Tatenda and Kutanga, we were hoping for good news to end the year, and it couldn't have got much better than the birth of a new healthy baby black rhino!

Born on 12th December, Tafara, which means "We are rejoicing", or "We are joyful" in Shona, has raised our spirits and reminded us of everything good we are working towards during difficult times.

Kamchacha and Tafara are both doing well and are giving our Game Park Team lots to do during this beautiful rainy season. Kamchacha is keeping Tafara safely hidden in the long grass, so she is hard to photograph, but we managed to snap these few:
