A Weekend Away from  Camp

During the weekends we have the chance to leave camp and go into Hellville, the capital of Nosy Be to have some fun in a different location. The boat leaves early Saturday morning and once back in town you can enjoy having Western food and coffees, or explore the endless options of street food stalls - anything from pasta to spring rolls to seafood, and the best part is IT'S SO CHEAP.

On  Geckos

As new principal investigator of Frontier’s terrestrial research project, my first aim after landing on Nosy Be was to get into its famously diverseforests. On my first few forays into the humid woodlands that scatter a peninsula to the southeast of Lokobe national park, I encountered a variety of herpetofauna, my speciality.

Hey I’m Lucie, Frontier’s new Marine Assistant ResearchOfficer at camp in Madagascar! Over the last few days I’ve been familiarising myself with camp life, met all of the other members of staff and volunteers and started training for the invertebrate and reef fish surveys.
