Rosanna and Ellen describe their favourite moments from their visit to the town of Diego and the University of Diego with Frontier. Rosanna was a judge for a debate organised with the tourism students at the University regarding the construction of a new hotel in Ankarana National Park and it led to some interesting results! Ellen managed to visit the Tropical gardens in Diego in the morning and even got a private tour!
Last weekend our staff and some of our volunteers headed to Diego University to give talks and presentations as well as re-establish old connections which will be beneficial in the future conservation of the areas and communities we work in. Find out about the National park they stopped off in on route
My name is Callaghan McCarthy. I’m 24 years old from Ireland, I have just finished my sixth week in Madagascar with Frontier. I’ve done 2 weeks on the forest programme, two weeks competing my PADI Open Water and Advanced Open Water and the last two have been spent in Hell-Ville, Nosy Be, working on the community project.
Where do I start…? My time in Madagascar has been many things. Breath-taking, amazing, life changing, educational, fun and unforgettable just to name a few.
I spent 6 weeks in Madagascar and it was an adventure I will never forget! The country was fantastic and so were all the people. I’ve now got friends from all corners of the world that I look forward to visiting in the future.
