Milkybar

One of my favourite things to do on a sunny weekend on Beqa is to go to the Milkybar beach. You can get to the beach by foot or swimming and it takes about 30 minutes to get there. All you need to bring for a swim there is your snorkel, fins and camera.

Bula!

I’m one of the new marine conservation interns over in Beqa, Fiji and I have been here about a week now and am starting to get familiar with the ways of camp life. Many volunteers stay round 3 months on the conservation trip but some stay as much as 6 months in Beqa, and I can already see why; a combination of the diving and remote wildness of these islands holds a unique charm.

International Year of the  Reef

At the beginning of this year, the International Coral Reef Initiative announced 2018 to be the third International Year of the Reef (IYOR). This means many exciting things in the world of marine conservation; a designated IYOR aims to strengthen awareness globally about the value of, and threats to coral reefs and associated ecosystems.

From Tenerife to  Fiji

I went to Tenerife to do whale and dolphin conservation in July of 2017. From the second I landed I had a smile glued to my face, as I knew I was in for a treat but I never really knew how amazing the next three weeks of my life would be.

Danananananananana…Batfish!

Diving at Bikini never disappoints, its’ by far one of the best dive sites I’ve had the pleasure of diving at. From the flatworms, to the lion fish, to seeing hundreds of fusiliers and unicorn fish swim past you, you never quite know what’s in store for you next.
