Mangroves

Apart from being astonishing organisms in terms of the adaptations that they have managed to evolve in order to adapt to life in the harsh intertidal environment, mangroves don’t fail to amaze when one considers the role that they play in nature. A lot of fish start out their life in the mangrove forests.

Dives and Sunsets in  Beqa

This week has not been a typical week for us on Beqa. Since I enjoyed the city of Suva for the weekend, I returned to camp late Monday afternoon, thus missing the daily dives. I did, however, have time to go down to the creek to rinse off. It is always so refreshing to wade in to the water after an incredibly hot day like Monday.
