Dives and Sunsets in  Beqa

This week has not been a typical week for us on Beqa. Since I enjoyed the city of Suva for the weekend, I returned to camp late Monday afternoon, thus missing the daily dives. I did, however, have time to go down to the creek to rinse off. It is always so refreshing to wade in to the water after an incredibly hot day like Monday.

Reef Management - What We Do Here

Probably the main aspect that the work that Frontier does on Beqa island has to do with fisheries management in and around the lagoon. In a community where the locals rely heavily on fishing for their day-to-day lives, the importance of being able to make sure that the reefs can resist all the fishing pressure becomes very obvious.
