Bauisevu  Waterfall

Fiji is full of hidden treasures and after a tip of from a local we went to go and find one – Bauisevu waterfall. Located on the road along the Coral Coast (the same road you get the bus from Nadi to Suva along) about half way between the two cities is a sign advertising the falls.

Mount Korobaba

This weekend we decided to climb the nearest mountain to Suva, Mount Korobaba (Ko-rom-bam-ba). It’s located just outside in a town called Lami – you pass through it on the road down from Coral Coast from the airport.

Rugby!

Rugby is a religion here in Fiji. They eat, sleep and breathe it. Being here whilst the Olympic Gold was won was something very special and one of my lasting memories of Fiji. Now that the IRB World Sevens Series is also in full swing the fever has caught the nation once more.

Christmas

I headed back over to the marine camp on Beqa for the Christmas festivities – without any volunteers in Suva I thought it may be a bit lonely! The boat this time was glorious! Calm sea, blue sky and just a tiny bit of sea spray. Nothing like my previous crossing!

My Time In Fiji: Animal Welfare Volunteer, Paige

Bula everyone! My name is Paige and last week I was living in Suva, Fiji working on the Frontier animal welfare project! My first full day in Suva was pretty unfortgetable. I was working closely with the veterinarian staff at the shelter and was able to observe and partake in their daily routine.
