Ruins And Celebrations In Guatamala

Week 2 began with a trip to the Palenque ruins. An early start was definitely worth it after spending the day in the sun climbing temples and getting some cool Instagram photos in various positions. In the afternoon, we relaxed by some amazing waterfalls trying (and failing) to improve our tans.

Honduran Hospitality: A Week Living With a Local Family

We were all excited about immersing ourselves in a bit of Honduran culture for the week, and we're going to be living with a family in La Ceiba and taking Spanish lessons for 5 days. We were all a bit nervous and not sure what to expect, but all those doubts were quickly erased when me met our lovely family and beautiful home to stay in.

We slipped effortlessly across the Guatemalan-Honduran border early in the morning, and rolled into Copán for our first sight of Honduras. Still stunning and naturally charming, the first noticeable difference was it was HOT compared to the lovely cool lakeside town of San Pedro La Laguna from where we came.
